27 Self-Care Essentials for Moms
Establishing a daily or weekly self-care routine as a mom is a non-negotiable in my book.

Self-care may be the last thing on your mind as a new mom. It might seem impossible to fit into your daily or weekly routine. Promise me when I say that implementing even a tiny semblance of a self-care routine will make you a better mom and a better wife.
Non-Negotiable Daily Routine
1. Lip gloss/lip balm
Chapped, unmoisturized lips have never been in. We want them plump and rosy! Keep a few lip glosses in your purse, bathroom, and bedroom to re-apply, re-apply, re-apply. My favorite is the Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer by Fenty. Pair with a lip liner for an easy, gorgeous SAHM look.
2. Tinted mineral sunscreen
A must-have GRWM item. Sunscreen prevents aging and skin cancer and is a necessity for walks and days at the park with the kids. I currently am loving e.l.f’s Suntouchable Whoa Glow sunscreen. It is a Gloscreen dupe and doubles as a makeup primer. It blends right into your skin and gives you that “no makeup” makeup look.
3. Bronzer
I’m almost out of my L’oreal bronzer! Tinted sunscreen+bronzer takes just a few seconds but really elevates your look.
4. Essential oil diffuser
Ditch the toxic room fresheners and invest in an essential oil diffuser instead! It will help purify the air, improve your sleep, and create a spa-like relaxing environment in your home.
5. Moisturizer
Always always moisturize as a part of your nighttime routine. Dry skin isn’t doing anyone any favors. I use Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost Water Gel that I got at Costco.
6. Water bottle
Get yourself a trendy water bottle to encourage you to hydrate more! Everyone knows water is amazing for you, so drink up!
7. Vitamin D
Get outside first thing in the morning to set your circadian rhythm. If not in the morning, at least in the afternoon! Additionally, invest in a vitamin D supplement, whether or not you are going outside every day.
8. Perfume or body spray
Refresh yourself with perfume before your significant other comes home and before you go to bed. Make every evening elegant, classy, and special!
9. Cuticle oil
In the morning or the evening, apply cuticle oil to your cuticles. This will help strengthen and grow the natural nail.
10. Magnesium powder
Replace a glass of wine with a mug of magnesium + tea and see the difference in your sleep. I love the CALM Cherry Magnesium powder mixed with a berry tea from Celestial Seasonings.
Non-Negotiable Weekly Routine

11. DIY manicure
If you don’t have acrylic, dip, or gel nails on, make it a non-negotiable to manicure your nails every single week. I do this typically on Sundays if I don’t have fake nails on.
12. Deep conditioner
As a curly girl with loads of hair, deep conditioners are a MUST for me. At least once a week, marinate your hair with a moisturizing deep conditioner. I use the t.g.i.n Honey Miracle Leave-In every weekend.
13. TikTok Viral DIY Scented Body Oil
Combine Neutrogena’s Body Oil(or any other body oil of your choice) with Nemat’s Vanilla Musk and Amber Musk fragrance. This scent will last all day and your body will be so moisterized! Some creators who inspired this trend used less than half the bottle of both scents, others used one whole bottle of one scent.
14. Aztec mask
This Natural Calcium Bentonite Clay Mask works great for cleansing your pores. Apply this once a week to get rid of acne, oily skin, or other blemishes.
15. Detox bath
Take a weekly detox bath with Epsom salts and baking soda to cleanse your body of any toxins. There are so many benefits of detox baths, such as increased blood flow, sweating to remove toxins, and decreased inflammation. About 2 cups of Epsom salts to 1 cup of baking soda is a good ratio to stick to.

16. Scent-free candles
I love a good scented candle, but the toxic fumes they emit are doing more harm than good. A calming candle relaxes the atmosphere and gives a spa vibe.
17. Foaming bath
Apart from your detox bath, a bubble bath is a perfect way to relax and unwind from a busy week. Bonus points if you pour yourself a glass of wine or sparkling water and read a book at the same time!
18. Clear nail polish
Apply strength building clear nail polish as often as needed throughout the week. Clean, shiny, short natural nails are very elegant and classy.
19. Dry brush
For smoother and softer skin, start dry brushing at least once a week. I have yet to add this to my routine but I’ve heard that it works wonders for exfoliating dead skin!
20. Journal with colorful pens
Write an entry every day. If you don’t know what to write about, talk about what you are grateful for and thank God for the gifts he’s given you.
BONUS: Little Luxuries for Everyday Self-Care

Let’s take your self care level to the next notch!
21. Cute mugs for drinks
Morning coffee will be so much better with an adorable, aesthetically pleasing mug. I love finding mine at Target or TJ Max (I know, don’t come at me).
22. Scalp massager
Upgrade your self care routine by adding a scalp massager to the mix. There’s nothing more relaxing then getting your scalp massaged, and with a scalp massager, you can do it yourself.
23. Bamboo bathtub tray
I was gifted one of these by my friend and I use it at least once a week, every time I take a bath. It has spaces for your drink, your phone, and even a tablet if you wanted to watch your favorite show while bathing.
24. Cotton washcloths for your body
Have at least 7 100% cotton washcloths to clean your body with in the shower or bath. Rotate these daily, and you’ll feel the difference on your skin and how clean you are.
25. Cherry juice
Add some cherry juice to your magnesium/tea concoction to help you improve your sleep. Make sure it’s organic and 100% cherry juice!
26. Lavender pillow spray
My sister recommended a sweet-smelling pillow spray before you go to sleep. The scent will help you relax and get a better night’s sleep!
27. Wine
Last but not least, I love a glass of wine when hanging out with family, friends, or just taking a bath and watching Desperate Housewives.
