When my daughter’s 1st birthday was looming around the corner, I knew I wanted a smaller party, with mostly just family and friends. This Strawberry Shortcake theme was an adorable, affordable way to decorate and celebrate my baby girl. I’m including all of the details of how I pulled off this simple, cute first birthday with just about10 people total.

Food & Beverage

Strawberry shortcake (obviously)

I used this recipe below that I found on Pinterest from Glorious Treats. I don’t consider myself much of a cake baker, but this shortcake turned out so good!!

And don’t ask me how I decorated the cake, my husband did all of the work there!

Agua de fresa

This was my first time making “agua de fresa” and it did not disappoint! It’s a delicious Mexican beverage that is made of strawberries, sugar, and water. I served this in my mom’s punch bowl with lots of ice.

Rainbow Fruit Plate

Definitely inspired by the “Love, Meghan” Netflix show, this rainbow plate was a hit and such a cute addition to our little party. We added chocolate covered strawberries, oranges, mango, grapes, and blueberries to a platter to create a “rainbow”. Look on Pinterest for other variations of fruits and ways to assemble the platter.

Strawberry Shortcake cups and plates from Oriental Trading

I was so excited to find these items online through Oriental Trading, there were VERY limited items in stock, so I wasn’t able to get Strawberry Shortcake plates with the characters face on it. However, I did snag some adorable strawberry plates that went along with the theme.

I SCORED this vintage-looking Strawberry Shortcake cake topper on Etsy. Super cute and not pricey in my opinion! It went great with the strawberry shortcake that we made.

Strawberry Shortcake neon light decor from Ross

My mom snagged this for me as soon as she spotted it at Ross. It’s so adorable and I still use it now to hang up in her nursery corner in our apartment.

Another find from my mom! I love how popular strawberry decor is getting this year, it’s so fun and refreshing. I want like 5 more of these haha.

Birthday sign from Ebay

There were quite a few online sellers seling this Strawberry Shortcake Princess theme happy birthday banner. I tried really hard to find a “regular” non princess themed Strawberry Shortcake banner, but unfortunately couldn’t get my hands on one of them.
