“He Said, She Said”: Game Rules & How to Play
If you’re anything like me, planning games can be overwhelming and a bit confusing. Luckily for you, “He Said, She Said” mommy and daddy baby shower game is a super simple activity. It’s a wonderful way to have some fun at the party! Your baby shower guests will love this game and everyone will have some good laughs.
- First up, gather your questions to be asked to mom and dad. These can be as many or as little as you want, I recommend about 10-15 questions for about a 20 minute game(See further down for question ideas). Type them up using Google Docs or Microsoft Word as you’ll be emailing or texting them the questions.
- Send mom and dad the series of questions, and ask them to write down their answers. Alternatively, ask them to record themselves individually answering the questions on their phone. Make sure they re-state the question before answering or include some type of context. Example: Who correctly guessed the gender of the baby? Parent answers, “I knew the gender of the baby right from the start.”
- Take the written down answers and compile them into the game sheet. You may have to reword the answer for it to make sense in the context of the answer, and that’s okay! Include a “He” and “She” line or “Mom” and “Dad” line next to each question, so that guests can just circle or tick off whether they think “He” said it or “She” did (Scroll down for a visual example). Make enough copies for your baby shower party guests.
- Gather everyone together and hand out the sheets. Don’t forget to tell guests to write their names on the top!
- Read the question out loud, and wait for everyone to circle whether “He said” or “She said” after each question. When guests are done writing their answer, play the video recording of mom and dad giving their answer. Ideally, you’d have edited the video so that each answer is repeated first by mom, then dad. Guests will have a blast watching the video and seeing who actually said what.
- Alternatively, if you don’t have a video recording, simply state who said what (ex., “She said it!).
- The aim of the game is to correctly guess as many “He Said, She Said” questions as possible. Have guests count how many they got right, and hand out a prize to whomever has the most correct answers! There might be a tie, and that’s OK. Just keep extra prizes on hand.
